As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. And, the count's body being found by chance, all goes back to normal.。1976年，毛主席逝世后，"四人帮"篡党夺权活动更加猖獗。江南炼油厂党委书记陈赤水带领全厂职工顶逆流，将革命生产搞得蓬蓬勃勃。省委把他们学大庆、坚持岗位责任制的材料上报国务院，并决定在炼油厂召开现场会，以促进全省工业学大庆群众运动的深入开展。帮派头目、省革委会副主任崔汉杰，视省委书记向春生和陈赤水为他们搞乱全省、乱中夺权的障碍。他从北京王洪文那里取得支持后，与称病休养的省委常委赵森策划，动员帮派势力攻击向春生、陈赤水，煽动工人离开岗位，抵制现场会。厂工会主席胡海在工人中间制造思想混乱，青工小牛被他拉拢离开岗位，结果造成装置泵区失火。陈赤水追究事故责任，批语了胡海，小牛等青工竟为胡海辩护，指责陈赤水执行修正主义路线。崔汉杰滥用职权，责令陈赤水检讨，并派人罗织陈的"罪状"，逼省委为被陈赤水法办的原帮派头目、现行反革命分子平反。陈赤水得知这伙人有上面人支持...。
