在太平洋戰爭末期，為了解決日本軍士兵不足的問題，軍部要求金田博士和敷島博士製作可以讓日本軍起死回生的秘密兵器，巨大機械人「鐵人28號」。 但是機械人完成後，戰爭卻結束了。於是「鐵人28號」又被鎖起來。後來金田博士的兒子，金田正太郎得到28號的無線操控器，而展開了故事。。The warmhearted story of Polish immigrant and mathematician Stan Ulam, who moved to the U.S. in the 1930s. Stan deals with the difficul t losses of family and friends all while helping to create the hydrogen bomb and the first computer. 波兰科学家乌兰姆于上世纪30年代移居到美国，他在帮助科研团队制作氢弹的过程中，他还要处理和面对一些个人得失。。
