北宋年间，国子监广文馆中，接连发生学生手持一朵芙蓉花，七窍流血而亡的离奇案件，而京城有名的纨绔子弟郭元景、刘庆、张大能则被列为重点怀疑对象，三人不甘心被人白白冤枉，于是与一名美丽的异族少女组成破案小组，调查命案，却被卷入了一场更大的阴谋。。Set in the country-town of Upson Down, the comedy drama follows eleven-year-old Annie Shearer and her adopted stray dog Runt, as they try to save the family farm by competing in the Agility Course Grand。
