满清末年，国家羸弱，不仅外受强敌欺侮，国内以强凌弱的情况亦彼彼皆是，在此环境下自小父母双亡的梁宽（李克勤），全赖一身无师自通的功夫以自保，并自诩以锄强扶弱为己任。而后宽终因打抱不平，唯恐祸延亲族决定至广州投靠亲兄正，并寻找指腹为婚的妻子叶宝儿（傅明宪）。宽到广州后发现正非如信中所述般富贵，且常受到恶霸欺凌，故决以武力对抗强权，终将恶霸铲除，宽因而声名大噪，。The story is set in the 1930s, somewhere in the mountains in Romania. It centres on Simion, a ranger who lives like a hermit in the middle of the forest. One day, he stumbles upon a beaten-up woman, Irina, and tries to find out who has hurt her. He also tries to stay away from her but fails.。
